Royal Navy HMS Nottingham (D91)

The Royal Navy's HMS Nottingham (D91) is a type 42 destroyer that was commissioned in 1983. Throughout its service, it has participated in several notable events and has had a distinguished career.

One of the most significant moments in HMS Nottingham's history occurred in 2002, when the ship ran aground off the coast of Australia. The incident caused significant damage to the vessel, but thanks to the quick thinking of the crew, everyone was safely evacuated. Following the grounding, the ship was repaired and returned to active service.

In addition to its role in military operations, HMS Nottingham has also been involved in several humanitarian missions. For example, in 1997, the ship was deployed to Sierra Leone to help with the evacuation of British nationals during a period of political unrest. It has also been involved in drug interdiction operations in the Caribbean and has provided assistance during natural disasters such as Hurricane Irma in 2017.
